Serious Lorry Crash in Chelmsford: Police Launch Urgent Witness Appeal
Essex Police are scrambling for witnesses after a nasty crash rocked Howe Green, Chelmsford earlier today, Tuesday, April 2nd.
What Happened?
The smash took place just after 1:30 pm at the junction of Old Southend Road and Southend Road.
- A white HGV lorry with a red trailer collided with a black Nissan Navara.
- The passenger inside the Nissan suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to hospital.
- The lorry driver has been arrested as police probe the crash.
Road Closures and Police Probe
The collision shut down the stretch from Church Road, West Hanningfield, all the way to East Hanningfield Road in both directions. Drivers are told to steer clear and expect delays — the closure could last for hours.
