Israeli Pm Rejects Ceasefire, Vows To Defend Interests

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has firmly ruled out the possibility of a temporary ceasefire, despite mounting pressure from Western nations for a humanitarian pause to allow essential aid into the Gaza Strip. Following a meeting with the US Secretary of State, Netanyahu emphasized that Israel would continue its operations with full force and refused to consider a temporary ceasefire that did not include the return of Israeli hostages.

“I tell our enemies to the north, don’t test us. You will pay dearly,” warned Netanyahu, underscoring Israel’s determination to defend its interests. He reassured the international community that Israel’s forces were operating at full capacity on all fronts.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah cautioned against an attack on Lebanon, describing it as the “stupidest mistake” Israel could make. Nasrallah highlighted the daily battles along the Lebanese border with Israel since the conflict with Hamas began and warned that the situation could escalate further. He stressed that the extent of Hezbollah’s response would depend on developments in Gaza and Israel’s approach toward Lebanon.

With tensions escalating, Nasrallah stated, “On our front, all options are open. We must be ready for all possibilities.” His comments reiterated Hezbollah’s readiness to respond to any aggression.

The ongoing conflict has resulted in significant casualties. In October, Hamas took approximately 240 people hostage in an attack that claimed the lives of nearly 1,400 individuals. Israeli retaliatory strikes have led to the deaths of over 9,200 Palestinians in Gaza, according to the Hamas-run health ministry. The ministry has also reported the targeting of a convoy of ambulances carrying critically wounded individuals, resulting in additional casualties. Israel’s military has stated that it is investigating these claims made by the Gaza health ministry.
