A man condemned by a Labour MP as a “senior Hamas operative” has been openly leading huge pro-Palestine protests all over London. Parliament has revealed he’s living right under the UK’s nose — stirring up demonstrations in the heart of the capital.

Who Is Zaher Birawi?

Zaher Birawi, 64, from the West Bank, isn’t your average activist. He’s the chair of the Palestine Forum in Britain and a presenter on an Arabic TV station broadcast from London. His group forms part of the Palestine Coalition, which reportedly organised over 20 rallies across London in 2025 alone.

In October 2023, Labour MP Christian Wakeford used parliamentary privilege to label Birawi a “senior Hamas operative.” Israel backs up these claims, linking him to the banned terrorist group.

“This house rightly voted to proscribe Hamas in its entirety in November 2021. It is therefore a serious national security risk for Hamas operatives to be living here in London,” warned Wakeford.

Birawi furiously denies these charges, calling them “unfounded.” He’s also criticised the UK ban on Hamas, claiming it excludes “an essential section of the Palestinian community from the peace process.”

Chilling Links to Hamas Leadership

Birawi’s past raises eyebrows. In 2012, he was photographed in Gaza alongside Ismail Haniyeh, the late Hamas leader who died last year. He also shared an image celebrating Hamas’s 25th anniversary featuring a Qassam rocket — a notorious symbol of the group’s militant wing.

At a Palestine Festival in London last November, Birawi told The Times: The essence of the battle is not decided in the corridors of biased politics, but in the resilience of men and women who refuse to be broken. Rights are seized, not begged for. The homeland will not be retrieved by waiting.

Other Alleged Hamas Ties in UK Protests

Christian Wakeford didn’t stop at Birawi. He also named Ziad El Aloul, former chairman of the Palestine Forum in Britain, as another alleged Hamas operative. El Aloul was a director in the group back in 2015.

El Aloul has been spotted leading London marches with ex-Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn. On October 7, he even posted videos praising Hamas’s attack on Israel “by land, air and sea,” along with footage of militants inside Israeli towns.

Meanwhile, Adnan Hmidan, current vice-chairman of the Palestine Forum, reportedly called the October 7 Hamas attacks a “normal situation.” He shared a photo of Hamas founder Ahmed Yassin with the caption: “I love this man.”

National Security Alarm Bells Ringing

The Palestine Coalition — made up of the Palestine Forum in Britain and five other groups — has driven a surge of protests in London this year. These startling revelations raise serious questions. Are individuals linked to terrorist groups running these demonstrations right here in the UK?

The UK proscribed Hamas entirely in November 2021. Yet, alleged operatives continue to organise openly — rallying huge crowds on British soil just months later.
