Daytime Aggravated Burglary Shakes Southampton Street

Police are hunting witnesses after a terrifying aggravated burglary on West End Road, Southampton. The brazen break-in happened between 10am and 11am on Friday, 11 September.

Fake Electric Board Men Launch Attack

A man pretending to be from the electric board showed up, claiming he needed to read the meter. He was followed into the home by a second man. The pair then violently attacked the 29-year-old woman inside, slashing her face and making off with cash.

Suspect Descriptions Released

  • First man: White, 45-55 years old, around 5ft 11ins, overweight, grey hair. He wore dark clothes, a blue surgical mask, photo ID lanyard, and carried a bag. Inside the house, he pulled on a black balaclava.
  • Second man: Black, over 5ft 11ins, muscular, bald. Also wore a blue surgical mask initially, then switched to a black balaclava inside.

Police Urge Locals to Come Forward

Detectives describe the attack as “disturbing” and are keen to hear from anyone in the West End Road area near Cutbush Lane junction between 9am and 11am last Friday. Drivers with dash-cam footage or anyone who spotted two men matching these descriptions are urged to get in touch.
