Saudi Arabia Confirms Second Coronavirus Case Amid Iran Outbreak Scare
Virus Spreads in Middle East: Saudi Arabia on Alert
Saudi Arabia has reported its second confirmed case of coronavirus. The news comes amid mounting fears as Iran’s surging infection rate threatens to ignite a regional outbreak.
First Case Arrived via Iran and Bahrain
The Kingdom had remained virus-free for over three months while coronavirus spread from China to 66 countries worldwide. Almost all Middle East cases link back to Iran – either through travel or contact.
The Saudi health ministry revealed the newly infected patient travelled from Iran through Bahrain, crossing the King Fahad Causeway.
Quarantine and Testing Underway
The infected man is now in quarantine. Authorities are scrambling to trace and test everyone he has come into contact with to prevent further spread.
Health officials confirmed the second case within hours, sparking urgent warnings across the region.
