Two Caught After Bexhill Shop Theft Spree

15 Thefts Hit Local Stores

Two men have been convicted after a string of thefts targeted several Bexhill shops. Between March 3 and July 18, police dealt with 15 reported shoplifting incidents at Co-op on Seabourne Road, One Stop on Sea Road, and One Stop on Turkey Road.

Police Nab Ashley Kehoe and Tamsin Gregory

Using intelligence gathered, officers arrested Ashley Kehoe, 37, of no fixed address, and Tamsin Gregory, 35, of Edmonton Road, Bexhill, on July 19. Kehoe faces 13 charges of shoplifting, while Gregory is charged with 11.

Hundreds of Pounds of Goods Stolen

The stolen items – amounting to hundreds of pounds worth of stock – hit local businesses hard. Both men pleaded guilty at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on July 20.

Sentencing Scheduled for August

Kehoe and Gregory have been remanded in prison. Their sentencing hearing is set for August 9 at Brighton Magistrates’ Court.
