Police are appealing for witnesses after small jewellery items were stolen in a burglary on the Isle of Wight. At around 11:45am on Tuesday, October 18, a man broke into a house on Glynn Close in Nettlestone. The man was disturbed by the occupants of the property and ran from the scene. Jewellery items including a neck chain, and a gold ring with a black onyx centre, were reported missing following the incident. Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or saw a man acting suspiciously in the area. Detective Constable Gillian Harvey said: “This offence happened during daylight hours, and there may have been people around who saw something. “We would urge anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at this time to contact police immediately.” A 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident, and has been bailed until December 15. Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Harvey on 101, quoting 44160393425, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
