Two Arrested After Horror Crash on A2 in Dover
Police have taken two men into custody following a terrifying smash on the A2 late Sunday night. Emergency crews rushed to the scene just before midnight to find a smashed-up private car and a huge foreign-registered lorry involved in a brutal head-on collision.
Rescue Teams Use Specialist Gear to Free Victims
Firefighters from 1 Fire and Rescue had to use specialist cutting tools to free the trapped occupants from the wrecked black Nissan Qashqai. The A2 towards Dover Port was shut for almost nine hours as police and investigators combed the scene.
Collision Under Serious Investigation
A Kent Police spokesperson confirmed: “At 11.54pm on Sunday 2 July 2017, officers were called to reports of a crash on Jubilee Way involving a yellow lorry and a black Nissan Qashqai.
The lorry was heading towards the docks when it collided head-on with the Nissan, which was travelling the opposite way.”
Two Men Held as Police Seek Witnesses
The Serious Collision Investigation Unit is leading the probe. So far, a 36-year-old man and a 51-year-old man have been arrested in connection with the crash.
