A staggering video has emerged showing 30 to 40 men scrambling out of a lorry at a busy M25 service station – with one man whipping them on with a rope. The chaotic scene unfolded yesterday afternoon at Cobham Services in Elmbridge, Surrey, as the gang ripped open the roof of a French truck and then scattered across nearby fields.
Shocking Footage Captures Migrant Frenzy
The clip was shot by electrical engineer Ryan Stanley, 21, who was driving back from a job in Bromley, South London. He spotted the mass unloading at around 2.30pm and immediately started filming. Two men can be seen herding the suspected migrants, with one using a makeshift whip to hurry them along.
“There were about 30 or 40 men who came out,” said Mr Stanley. “I started filming about 25 seconds after I noticed them. There were three lorries, but two drivers seemed clueless and shocked about what was happening.”
The migrants sprinted across a field and vanished behind a nearby hotel, making for a surreal and tense scene.
Police Presence but No Arrests Caught on Camera
Mr Stanley added that police with sniffer dogs arrived on the scene, though he didn’t see any arrests made during the chaos. This latest incident echoes previous cases at the M25.
Recent Arrests and Releases Linked to M25 Smuggling
Just days earlier, a 50-year-old Italian lorry driver was arrested on suspicion of illegally ferrying 27 people into the UK, after they were found crammed in his lorry at the same Cobham Services. However, he was released without charge shortly after.
- Between August 2014 and August 2015, police arrested 117 people for illegal entry at M25 services.
- These included 16 children and teenagers, with 71 under 30 years old.
- The migrants hailed from countries like Afghanistan, Albania, Ethiopia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, and Syria, with many from Eritrea.
The Home Office confirmed the Italian driver’s release, underlining the ongoing challenges faced in tackling human trafficking and smuggling along the M25.
