Probe launched after Car Fire rips through Eight commercial units

Police are investigating the cause of a car fire that spread and ripped through eight commercial units in Southampton. Fire crews from five fire from around Hampshire Redbridge, Romsey, St Mary’s, Eastleigh and Hightown – rushed to the scene at First Avenue after the blaze broke out in the early hours. A tenant of one of the units that was badly damaged by fire said neighbouring ones had also been affected by water damage. A spokesman for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service was alerted just after 2.30am. He added: “Fourteen sets of breathing apparatus, two jets and two hose reels were used to extinguish the blaze. crew remained at the scene damaging down until just before 7am on Sunday morning.”
