Inferno in Southampton! A fierce car fire exploded into a raging blaze, engulfing eight commercial units in Southampton.
Firefighters Battle Huge Blaze
Crews from five Hampshire fire stations – Redbridge, St Mary’s, Eastleigh, and Hightown – raced to First Avenue in the early hours. The alarm was raised just after 2:30am, sparking a full-scale operation.
Massive Damage and Water Soak
One tenant revealed their unit was badly damaged, while neighbouring businesses suffered serious water damage from firefighting efforts.
Hampshire Fire Service Responds
We deployed fourteen sets of breathing apparatus, two jets, and two hose reels to tackle the flames,” a Hampshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson confirmed. “Our crew stayed on scene dampening down until just before 7am.”
Police are now probing the cause of the blaze as businesses count the cost of the overnight inferno.
