Police are hunting for witnesses after two linked incidents rocked Hayling Island on Friday evening. The drama began when two youths were thrown out of the West Town Inn on suspicion of peddling drugs.

Not content with just being kicked out, the pair went on to mug and assault a local man outside Whistlers Fish and Chip Shop on Station Road. The victim, who walks with a stick, was robbed of his jewellery and his walking stick during the brutal attack.
