Two Lanes closed on the M25 near Chertsey after vehicle aquaplanes and ploughs into Barriers

Traffic is building on the M25 anticlockwise after a single vehicle crash Two lanes of the M25 Motorway Junction 11 near Chertsey are closed this morning after car is understood to have aquaplaned lost control and ploughed into the crash barrier this morning. The incident happened just after 6.30am.

The driver of the vehicle seems to have escaped injury after his black Mercedes hit road furniture. The M25 contains a lot of surface water from the overnight downpour. The Mercedes A Class is understood to have careered across three live lanes before spinning and hitting the crash barriers. A recovery and repair operation is now taking place with long delays past the scene as drivers slow to view the scene on both sides of the carriageway. A spokesman for Highways England said : There is currently a delay of 30 minutes to customers using this section of the M25 We are is expected to clear the vehicle and have the lanes reopened by 10am. We are also going to have to carry out some barrier repairs to the damage section that is approx 10 meters of Crash barrier.
