Appeal after serious assault in Enfield

Police in Enfield are appealing for information after a man was seriously assaulted in an apparent dispute over parking. Officers were called at around 21:40hrs on Friday, 20 April, following a dispute between the occupants of two cars in Millais Road, EN1. While enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances, it is believed that the drivers of both cars – a white Mercedes and a black Volkswagen – were involved in a dispute over parking. During the dispute, a 68-year-old man was assaulted. He was the driver of the Volkswagen. The man was not taken to hospital from the scene of the incident; however his condition deteriorated and he was admitted on 26 April to an east London hospital where he remains in a critical condition. Detectives from Enfield CID are investigating. A man, aged in his 20s, was arrested at an address in Enfield on 1 May on suspicion of GBH. He remains in custody at a north-east London police station. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that may assist the investigation is asked to call Detective Sergeant Adam Sharp on 020 8345 3315 or via 101, quoting reference 8771/ 20apr. To remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
