Ex jailed for 13 years after brutal home invasion and vile assault

A vicious attacker has been locked up for 13 years after breaking into his ex’s home and savagely assaulting her. Racine Ndiaye, 43, of Croydon, was slammed with a lengthy sentence at Woolwich Crown Court on Friday, 4 May.

Knife-wielding ex terrorises victim

On 21 November 2017, Ndiaye first tried to break into the woman’s Croydon home at 8am, shouting threats to kill her through the door. The terrified woman called police, forcing Ndiaye to flee.

But the monster was back just hours later at 11am. He smashed through a window, grabbed a kitchen knife, and chased the woman upstairs. She locked herself in the bathroom and tried to escape out the window — only for Ndiaye to kick the door down and drag her back.

Horrific injuries after savage attack

The victim fell to the ground, breaking her ankle. Ndiaye then repeatedly punched and kicked her while onlookers tried to intervene. Police were called again but Ndiaye vanished before officers arrived.

She was rushed to a south London hospital with multiple facial injuries and that broken ankle. Ndiaye was finally arrested later the same day and charged the following morning.

Justice served

Ndiaye was found guilty of wounding with intent, burglary with intent to commit grievous bodily harm, and common assault back in April. Along with his 13-year jail term, he also received a restraining order against the victim.

“This lengthy sentence reflects how seriously police and the courts take vicious attacks such as this,” said Detective Constable Milo Horvath of Croydon CID. “We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure violent individuals such as Ndiaye are placed before the courts.”
