Shock Horror in Shanklin: Woman in 60s Found Dead in Block of Flats
A woman in her 60s was found dead inside a flat on the second floor of The Post House, Steephill Road, Shanklin. Locals say emergency services were called to the scene just after 3pm on Sunday, describing the scene as grim.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
Officers from the Isle of Wight police, alongside paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, were quick to respond. Specialist scene of crime officers are currently conducting a detailed examination of the flat.
Investigation Underway but No Suspicion of Crime
Hampshire Police have confirmed an investigation is ongoing. A file is being prepared for the Isle of Wight Coroner’s Court. Importantly, authorities say the death is not being treated as suspicious.
“The incident is not being treated as a crime,” a police spokesperson confirmed.
