Cyclist Dies After Horrific Crash with Bus in Portsmouth
A 71-year-old cyclist has tragically died following a collision with a single decker bus in Cosham, Portsmouth, earlier today.
Crash Details
The fatal smash happened just before 9.30am on Northern Road. The elderly rider was cycling north on his black bike when the devastating accident occurred.
He was rushed to southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton General Hospital with a serious head injury but sadly passed away later.
Road Closures and Witness Appeal
Officers partially closed Northern Road for hours as they investigated the incident.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened, or anything leading up to it,” said Police Sergeant Andy Gwyer of the Eastern Roads Policing Unit.
“In particular, we want to speak to passengers who were on the bus, as some got off to offer assistance.”
