Violent burglary leaves Pensioner in her 80s in hospital with serious injuries

Police are appealing for information following a callous and violent burglary in Woking yesterday (7 July) that left the homeowner in hospital. At around 5.30pm on Loop Road a man entered the home of a woman in her 80’s . He then stole her handbag and attacked her, resulting in serious injuries. He left the property and got into a white vehicle. The man has been described as white, of a slim build, around 5ft 8 to 6ft tall, light brown hair with curtains at the front. He was clean shaven and spoke with an English accent. The victim remains in hospital and is receiving treatment for her injuries. Detectives are now appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have information. Detective Sergeant Adam Tatton said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim that resulted in her being targeted and seriously injured within her own home. “There will be a visible police presence in the area over the coming days to continue enquiries, reassure the community and offer support and advice. “I urge anyone who may have any information that could assist our investigation to call Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference PR/45180072321.”
