Man kicked off his bike by group of men in Reading

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an assault in Reading. The incident occurred at about 2.30pm on Monday (23/7) in Circuit Lane near to the junction of the Bath Road. The victim, a 60-year-old man, was trying to pass a group of men on his bike when one of the men assaulted him, kicking and punching him to the floor, knocking him off his bike. The offenders then left the scene in the direction of Prospect Park. The victim sustained injuries to his elbow and shoulder but did not require hospital treatment. The offenders are a group of three black men and one white man, aged between 20–25-years-old. Investigating officer PC Grant Barber based at Reading police station said: “This was an unprovoked attack on a 60-year-old man which left him with injuries. “We are appealing for anyone who may have seen this incident to call 101 quoting reference ‘43180225008’, or report it online at https:///www.thamesvalley.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report/” Three men were arrested in connection with the incident. Two have been released with no further action and a 28-year-old man has been released under investigation.
