Collision in Shanklin causes delays

Emergency services have been called to a vehicle collision in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight this morning The incident happened on Victoria Avenue with the junction of St Johns Road in the town just after 8.30am Officers from Hampshire Police have been called to the Incident involving two vehicles a car and a motorcycle. Paramedics from the Isle of Wight ambulance service are treating the rider from the motorcycle. It is not clear if driver of the second vehicle has been injured as a result of the collision. Delays and traffic is building on the approach to the Incident that is also effecting local bus services that serve the area. Update 9.20am The motorcycle rider has been treated at the scene and taken to St Mars hospital for treatment. More to follow
