UPDATED:Fire crews still actively tackling Andover fire

Firefighters are continuing to manage the incident at the Ocado Andover CFC site. The existing evacuation zone remains in force overnight whilst toxic chemicals are removed from the site. Despite foul weather, crews are continuing to make the area safe and remove fuel in the path of the fire. That is understood to have spread to another section of the building. There are still concerns that a large cylinder containing refrigerant gas in it could explode. More than 300 firefighters have been tackling the blaze. Properties in the following roads are within the 500 metre exclusion zone around the Ocado warehouse: Bailey Close, Mundy Road, Adams Road, Ox Drove, Strapp Road, Chaplin Way, Erington Road, Walworth Road. These properties will be visited by members of the emergency services regarding evacuation following the fire. Harrow Way Community School is open as a rest centre. Ocado said the fire, which started in a corner of the “ambient grid” where the robots operate, has caused substantial damage to the majority of the building and its contents. Part of the roof has also collapsed. Hampshire fire has said further information will be available in the morning, including when the exclusion zone will be lifted. UPDATE 6am The exclusion zone remains in place for the safety of the public and for firefighters to make the area safe. UPDATE 0632am There is a strong possibility that those who work within the exclusion zone will not have access on Thursday morning. Northway remains closed whilst toxic chemicals are being removed from the scene of the fire that has now been burning for three days. Work has continued overnight to control #OcadoFire in #Andover Hampshire fire and rescue say they are hoping to stand down the evacuation zone later this morning. UPDATE 0652am Hampshire County council are standing down the rest centre @harrowway School as those affected by the #ocadofire have been moved to alternative accommodation either with family and friends or provided a hotel by @Ocado. UPDATE 7am A303 remains closed due to the incident. Chief fire officer Neil Odin has also revealed that the fire has spread into another part of the building and fire crews are likely to remain on site for weeks. More updates to follow
