UPDATED: Car leaves road in Newport crash

Two vehicles have been involved in a collision at Blackwater between Arreton and Newport this afternoon (Tuesday). Emergency services have been called to the scene on Blackwater Road near to the entrance for Wight Building Materials. A white Audi A1 has left the road following a collision with a Ford. Officers from the Armed response Roads policing have been called to the incident and the road has been closed in both directions. Paramedics from the Island ambulance services are also at the scene carrying out check to the drivers involved. It is understood that non of the drivers involved have been seriously injured. The Southern Vectis number two bus service has been effected by the closure. UPDATE 3pm The wreckage of the two vehicles involved has now been cleared and the road has fully reopened
