Newborn Abandoned in Oxford Hospital Toilet – Police and NHS Launch Desperate Search for Mother

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Thames Valley Police are scrambling to find a mother who gave birth alone in a hospital toilet before vanishing. Around 6pm on 18 March, a woman gave birth to a baby boy inside the hospital but then left without her newborn.

Baby Boy Found Safe and Well

Hospital staff found the infant shortly after and confirmed the baby is healthy and receiving round-the-clock care. But medics are deeply worried about the mother’s wellbeing, urging her to come forward immediately.

Appeal to Mother to Seek Urgent Medical Help

Sam Foster, Chief Nurse at Oxford University Hospitals, made a heartfelt plea: “I am appealing directly to the baby’s mother to please come forward to seek medical attention.

“Childbirth is an intense physical and emotional ordeal. You need our expert medical and midwifery team to check for any complications. We are here to care for you and reunite you safely with your baby boy.”

She added: “Please urgently call 01865 740429 to speak with a midwife. Or dial 999 and ask for an ambulance.”

Police Hunt for Witnesses

At present, there’s no description of the mother. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage to gather clues. Anyone who saw a distressed woman leaving the hospital after 6pm on 18 March should contact Thames Valley Police on 101 quoting reference 1209 18/3/19.
