Emergency services called to fireball yacht

Emergency services were called early this this morning to Ferry Road in Portsmouth. The early morning call was over seen by the UK coastguard after a 25 foot yacht burst into flame and turned into a fireball whilst afloat in the water.@ Fire crews stationed at Southsea from Hampshire fire and rescue, Portsmouth RNLI lifeboat and the Portsmouth coastguard team were all scambled to the incident just after 4am on Monday morning. A specialist floating carpet normally used in mud rescues was used for crews to gain access to tackle the blaze. Whilst firefighters used two hose reels to tackle the fire. The Portsmouth lifeboat carried out sweep search in the water for any casualties who may have been onboard. No one was injured and the yacht has been been gutted following the fire.
