Man turns himself and car into fireball after argument with Partner in Bookham

A man in his 50’s has been airlifted to hospital from Bookham in Surrey after turning himself and his car into a fireball this afternoon. https:///youtu.be/QKci7CdPAow Police placed Lower Shott in the village on Bookham in lockdown just after 12pm on Monday afternoon. Fire crews rushed from Leatherhead and Painshill fire stations after the explosion rocked nearby flats. The man packed the vehicle with large cans of propane gas the remains of them can be seen in the boot of the vehicle and laying nearby the vehicle. The melted guttering shows how intence the flames were. The area remains cordoned off whilst fire investigation teams carry work on behalf of the Surrey Police. A joint investigation has been launched with Surrey Fire and Surrey Police. The charred remains of a Ford Focus remain behind the cordon moments earlier the man was seen falling from the vehicle and was pulled away screaming in agony with his clothing fully engulfed in flames.   The man was treated at the scene for serious third-degree burns by doctors and advance paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance service before being airlifted by the Kent and Surrey air ambulance. A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance said: “They were called to Lower Shott car park near the High Street in Bookham at 12.40pm this afternoon (May 27) after a report that a man had been found with serious injuries and a car was on fire. “A man in his 50s has been airlifted to St George’s Hospital with serious injuries.
