Forest Gate Stabbing: Family Speak Out as Father Dies in Street Fight

Ismail Ceesay, 33, was tragically stabbed and killed in a violent street brawl opposite Atherton Leisure Centre on Warwick Road, Forest Gate. The father-of-one was found with fatal stab wounds at 1.15am on Tuesday after police and paramedics responded to reports of a fight involving men and women.

He was rushed to an east London hospital but later died from his injuries. Now, his devastated family is urging authorities to take urgent action to stop knife crime from becoming the new normal in the capital.

Family Plea: ‘Don’t Normalise Knife Crime’

“Ismail was loved and will be greatly missed by everyone,” the family said in a heartfelt statement. “He had a big heart and a bright spirit. Whenever he entered a room, you could feel it.”

“This isn’t just another man lost to street violence — he was a son, a father, a brother, and an uncle. The pain is unbearable.”

“Let’s not normalise knife crime. Something has to be done.”

Remembering Ismail: Loved by All

Ismail’s niece, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “There’s no doubt he was deeply loved. Now, all we can do is look forward and make sure he gets a proper send-off.”

The family’s plea adds to growing calls for tougher measures against knife-related violence in London’s streets.
