Man Dies After Brawl at Butlin’s Bognor Regis

A 52-year-old man from Bedford has died following a late-night fight at Butlin’s holiday resort in Bognor Regis.

Bar Brawl Turns Deadly

The violent clash erupted just before midnight on Friday, June 14, inside a busy bar area. During the altercation, the victim was punched in the face and collapsed to the floor.

He was rushed to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton but sadly passed away on Tuesday afternoon, June 18.

Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Wolstenholme from Sussex Police’s Major Crime Team said:

“A fight at a holiday park involving several people has tragically resulted in the death of a man. We extend our sympathies to his family and friends at this difficult time and are providing them with specialist support.”

“The bar was very busy when the assault happened, so we believe many witnesses saw what went down. We’ve spoken to some already but urge anyone present who hasn’t yet contacted us to come forward.”

Arrest Made, Investigation Ongoing

A 31-year-old man from Wandsworth, London, was arrested shortly after the fight on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He has since been released on bail until July 13 as enquiries continue.
