Armed Police Launch Four-Hour Siege in New Forest Village

Armed officers from Hampshire Constabulary swooped on a property in Ashley village, New Forest, after a 999 call raised welfare concerns. The drama unfolded at Brecon Close just before 11am on Wednesday.

Armed and response officers faced a tense four-hour standoff with a man inside the home. Fire crews and a police dog unit also joined the operation, adding muscle to the scene.

Police confirmed the man eventually agreed to leave the property and was arrested at the scene.

Police Statement on Disturbance

“They were called at just before 11am to reports of a disturbance at an address in Brecon Close, Ashley,” said a Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson.

“Concerns were raised for the welfare of people at the address.”
