The investigation into the murder of a woman in Blackheath continues as two people have been released on bail

The investigation into the murder of a woman in Blackheath continues as two people have been released on bail and another released with no further action. The victim has been identified as Amanda Gretton, who was aged 57 and from the Catford area of south London. A 49 –year-old-woman and a 45-year-old-man who were arrested on suspicion of murder on Monday, 8 July, have been bailed to return on a date in early August. A 40-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday, 7 July has been released with no further action. Amanda’s family are aware. The crime scene at Prendergast Road has now been closed. An investigation led by the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command was launched after police were called to garages in Prendergast Road, Blackheath at around 5pm on Friday, 5 July following reports that a body had been found inside a garage. The death is being treated as suspicious. Amanda’s family had reported her missing on Wednesday, 15 May. A post-mortem examination held at Greenwich mortuary on Sunday, 7 July was not able to establish a cause of death. Enquiries into the full circumstances continue.
