Driver Caught with Crossbow and Deadly Weapons During Traffic Stop

Police stopped a car on Perowne Way, Sandown, last October after spotting it had no MOT. The driver, 45-year-old Gavin Price from Downsview, Sandown, acted suspiciously. That’s when officers uncovered a shocking arsenal in his vehicle.

Lock Knives, Axes, and a Crossbow Found in Car

Price had a lock knife tucked into his belt and a crossbow with bolts hidden in the boot. The search revealed even more: hunting knives, additional lock knives, axes, and a BB gun.

Arrest and Conviction for Multiple Weapons Offences

Price was arrested on the spot and charged with various weapons offences. Yesterday (Tuesday 13 August), Newport Crown Court found him guilty of 17 offences, including possession of an imitation firearm, offensive weapons, and bladed articles.

He remains in custody and will be sentenced at Portsmouth Crown Court on 27 September.
