Extra Police Rush to Wythenshawe Over Shocking Assault Attempt
Detectives have scrambled extra cops to Wythenshawe following a terrifying attempted serious sexual assault.
Woman Finds Stranger in Kitchen
At around 3.55pm on Tuesday, 26 April 2022, police were called to a property on Malling Road after a woman discovered an unknown man inside her kitchen. The man then tried to commit a serious sexual assault.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 40s, about 6ft tall, with a balding head. He was wearing a black scarf around his neck at the time.
Police Hunt Underway With CCTV and House-to-House Enquiries
Detective Superintendent Chris Downey of GMP’s City of Manchester division said: “As part of our investigation, we have safeguarded the victim and deployed extra officers to the area to prevent any further crimes while keeping the community safe.”
“Officers are gathering all available evidence, carrying out house-to-house enquiries, and reviewing CCTV footage to identify and arrest the suspect swiftly.”
“We urge anyone with information, especially dash cam footage from Malling Road, Firbank Road, Millbrook Road, Belsay Drive or Whitburn Road, to come forward immediately.”
