Murder Probe Launched After Woman Found Dead in Deptford Flat

Police have opened a murder investigation after the body of a 46-year-old woman was discovered in Deptford. Officers were called to a flat on McMillan Street, SE8, just after 10am on Monday, 21 October, following concerns for the occupant’s welfare.

The victim has been named as Zoe Orton. A post-mortem carried out on Tuesday, 22 October, revealed the cause of death as neck compression.

No Arrests Yet as Homicide Team Takes Over

Specialist Crime homicide detectives are now leading the inquiry. So far, no arrests have been made.
