Wickham Horse Fair Cancelled Amid Coronavirus Fears

This year’s legendary Wickham Horse Fair, set for 21st May, has been called off. The government’s coronavirus crackdown means no horses, no crowds, and no fun for 2020.

Police Urge Public to Stay Home

Police have urged everyone to do their bit to stop the virus spreading. “We all need to play our part in saving lives,” they said. “Please don’t travel if you were planning to come. Let others know too.”

Local Authorities Pull the Plug

The cancellation was agreed after talks between event organisers, Hampshire Constabulary, Winchester City Council, and Hampshire County Council. Everyone hopes to get back to the fair big and bold in 2021.
