Man loses hide and seek in Folkestone arrest

Officers thank public for assisting in Folkestone arrest Kent Police has thanked members of the public who assisted in the arrest of a suspected motorbike thief. Officers were called at around 10.15pm on Tuesday 31 March 2020 after a group of men were seen attempting to steal a motorbike in the Black Bull Road area of Folkestone. Local residents had seen the group running from the scene and directed officers to where a man was hiding. A 19-year-old man from Folkestone was arrested on suspicion of attempted theft of a motor vehicle. He has since been released under investigation and enquiries continue into those involved in the incident. PC Glenn Day, of Folkestone’s Local Policing Team, said: ‘We’d like to thank the members of the public who interrupted this offence and aided in the arrest. ‘In light of this incident, I would like to encourage moped and motorbike owners in the area to make sure their bikes are locked and covered and, if possible, parked in an area covered by CCTV.
