Double Stab Murder Shocks Lambeth Community

Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have launched a murder probe after a man and woman were found stabbed to death in Lambeth.

Police rushed to Dorset Road, SW8, just after 4pm on Wednesday, 1 April following concerns for a man’s welfare. Officers and paramedics discovered a 59-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman inside the property, both with multiple stab wounds.

Despite desperate attempts to save them, both victims were pronounced dead at the scene. The pair are believed to have known each other, and their next of kin have been informed.

Six Arrested at Scene on Murder Suspicion

Five men aged from their 40s to late 50s, plus a woman in her early 50s, were all arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. Police say the investigation is at an early stage and currently they are not seeking anyone else in connection with the killings.

Detective Pleads for Witnesses from South American Communities

“I understand that this is an extremely shocking incident for the residents of this area and the wider community,” said Detective Chief Inspector Richard Leonard.

“My team is working hard to uncover the circumstances of this terrible event. We believe many involved come from South American communities.

“We’re appealing directly to those communities for any help and will work closely with partners to find witnesses. If you have any information, please come forward – you will be fully supported.”
