Emergency teams were scrambled to the heart of Folkestone after reports of a man in distress on the roof of a busy shopping centre.

Just before 10:30am on Monday, police, firefighters, and a HART team from South East Coast Ambulance raced to Bouverie Place following concerns for the individual’s welfare.

Area Sealed Off, Public Told to Steer Clear

Police quickly established a cordon around the scene, urging the public to avoid the vicinity. Specialist officers are currently engaging with the man in an effort to bring the situation to a safe conclusion.
