Drama on the Thames: Two Women Rescued After Riverbank Ordeal
Emergency crews scrambled to east London after two women were found in distress by the River Thames in the early hours of Monday.
Rapid Response to Riverbank Incident
Services were alerted just after 2am. Police, London Ambulance Service paramedics, and the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) were immediately dispatched. Firefighters specialising in water rescue, along with the MET Police boat Gabriel Franks II, joined the rescue on Bridge Water Road.
Stuck on the Wrong Side of the Wall
Teams discovered the women trapped beyond the Capital Ring Path Wall, a risky spot on the riverbank. Trained negotiators stepped in, coaxing the pair safely back over to the right side.
Safe and Sound After Rescue
Both women were handed over to the London Ambulance Service for care following the tense operation.
