Rescue Drama on Streatham High Road

Firefighters and the Range Rover driver were trapped in the wreckage. Both crews had to be freed using heavy-duty spreading and specialist cutting tools. Nearby fire crews raced to the scene to rescue the trapped firefighters onboard the fire engine.

The A23 at Greyhound Lane remains completely blocked both ways as LFB and Met Police officers investigate the collision.

Serious Injuries as Emergency Response Unfolds

Paramedics and London Ambulance Service’s HART team rushed to the incident. The Range Rover driver was trapped by injuries and released by extra fire crews before being hospitalised.

It’s unclear how badly hurt the firefighters and Range Rover passengers are. All four firefighters from the Norbury Fire Station engine were also taken to hospital.

Fire Brigade Statement
