Seven Arrested Over Murder of Alexander Kareem in Shepherds Bush
Detectives have made a major breakthrough in the murder of 20-year-old Alexander Kareem. Alexander was found with gunshot wounds on Askew Road, Shepherds Bush on Monday, 8 June.
Seven Suspects Held in Early Morning Raids
In the early hours of Tuesday, 4 August, police arrested seven people aged 16 to 35 on suspicion of Alexander’s murder. The suspects include:
- 24-year-old man from Brent
- 18-year-old man from Ealing
- 23-year-old man from Ealing
- 20-year-old man from Hounslow
- 16-year-old boy from Ealing
- 20-year-old man from Ealing
- 35-year-old woman from Hounslow
All remain in custody at London police stations as investigations continue.
CCTV Leads Police to White Range Rover
Officers have analyzed hours of CCTV footage to track a white Range Rover believed linked to the shooting. Alexander was shot while riding a scooter after leaving a local convenience store, heading to a friend’s house.
Detective Slams ‘Reckless’ Killing, Pleads for Info
“This is a significant development in the investigation, however we will not be complacent. We will continue to work hard to make sure those responsible are brought to justice,” said Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley.
“I believe this murder to have been a case of mistaken identity, perpetrated recklessly and with no regard whatsoever for human life.”
“Alexander’s death is a tragic reminder that carrying a gun has devastating consequences. I urge anyone with information to come forward and speak with us.”
