Police Investigate Suspicious Activity But Rule Out Serious Burglaries

Nottinghamshire Police are probing three reports of suspicious behaviour and one attempted burglary from Friday, 10 February 2023. Despite social media chatter stirring panic about violent break-ins in the Bakersfield area, officers are keen to calm fears.

Chief Inspector Sets Record Straight

Chief Inspector Chris Pearson said:

“We’ve been alerted to concerns about aggravated burglaries where homes were allegedly broken into. I want to reassure the public that no such incidents have been recorded recently. However, we are aware of four other suspicious events from Friday and have boosted patrols in response.”

He encouraged residents to speak directly to officers if worried and to share any useful info or footage.

Details of Suspicious Incidents Under Investigation

  • A burglary on Dovedale Road where an offender cut a lock to enter a rear garden, but nothing was stolen.
  • Reports of up to four men and one woman acting suspiciously and asking for money at doorsteps in Ferndale Road around 9:15pm.
  • A woman knocking on doors in Langdale Road.
  • A gate forcibly kicked open in Ipswich Circus.
