Fatal Crash on A259: Motorcycle Rider Dies Near Oasis Cafe
Kent Police have launched a serious investigation after a deadly collision on the A259 between New Romney and Brenzett, close to the Oasis Cafe.
Tragic Late-Night Smash
Emergency services were scrambled just after 11pm following a crash involving a motorcycle and a car. An air ambulance touched down near the scene in a desperate bid to save the motorcyclist. Sadly, the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
Serious Collision Unit Takes Over
Kent’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit spent the night combing the site. They examined wreckage spread across the area, with parts of the BMW motorbike— including the seat— found scattered as far as 25 metres away in a nearby field.
The impact has been described as heavy, and every detail of how the fatal smash unfolded will be thoroughly investigated.
Road Closures and Witness Appeal
- The A259 remains closed both ways, with diversions in place.
- Drivers are urged to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
Kent Police say they will release more information and appeal for witnesses once the next of kin have been informed and the full circumstances are clear.
Seven ambulances were reportedly at the scene, highlighting the severity of the collision.
