Ex-Extremist Harry Blake Jailed Over Child Abuse Images
Harry Blake, 21, from west London, has been locked up for three years and two months after flouting conditions set following his terrorism conviction. The Met’s Counter Terrorism Command caught Blake with a mobile phone and memory card he failed to declare to police — a clear breach of the law.
Shocking Findings at Gatwick Stop
On August 7, 2022, officers stopped Blake at Gatwick Airport under Schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act 2000. They seized his phone and memory card, which forensic experts later found contained extreme pornography and indecent images of children.
Criminal Past and Fresh Offences
Blake was arrested on September 15, 2022, and charged with multiple offences: three counts of failing to notify police under the Counter Terrorism Act, three counts of breaching a Serious Crime Prevention Order, three counts of possessing extreme pornography, and one count of possessing indecent child images. He pleaded guilty to all.
Detective Chief Superintendent Gareth Rees said, “This breach is incredibly serious given Blake’s previous conviction for sharing extremist content online. The discovery of child abuse images makes it even more grave.”
From Terrorist to Prisoner
Back in September 2020, Blake admitted guilt to 14 terrorism offences linked to extreme right-wing activity and two child abuse image charges. He received a suspended sentence and was slapped with a ten-year terrorist offender notification order. Blake was also required to undergo deradicalisation and was banned from using his computer without notifying police first.
Ignoring these strict controls has landed him behind bars now. He’ll remain on the notification order for ten years and face another Serious Crime Prevention Order when he’s released.
