Hunt on for Grey Jaguar in Kilburn Murder Probe
Almost a week after 26-year-old Jeffrey Wegbe was fatally shot in Kilburn, police have released a photo of a key vehicle they want to trace. Detectives believe this grey Jaguar XF Estate could hold vital clues.
Detective Urges Locals to Come Forward
Detective Inspector James Howarth, leading the murder investigation, said: “I am urgently appealing for information about the movements of this grey Jaguar XF Estate on Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 August. Did you see it in the area around the time Jeffrey was killed?”
“If you did, or have any other info about this car, please get in touch. Your tip could be the breakthrough that brings justice for Jeffrey and his family.”
House-to-House Enquiries Underway
Officers will be canvassing the Hansel Road area on Tuesday 18 August, conducting house-to-house enquiries as they hunt for witnesses.
Jeffrey was found with a gunshot wound to the chest after police and paramedics arrived just after midnight on 12 August. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
His grieving family said: “Our beloved Jeffrey was killed in a senseless and violent attack. We ask for your thoughts and prayers during this heartbreaking time.”
“We also want to thank the family, police and community for their ongoing support.”
How to Help the Investigation
Detective Howarth added: “We will be speaking to residents and want to hear from anyone who noticed anything unusual that night. No detail is too small.”
All information will be kept strictly confidential. Anyone with info should call the police incident room on 020 8358 0300, dial 101, or tweet @MetCC quoting Cad 140/12Aug.
