Three Charged After Shocking Tunbridge Wells Robbery

Three suspects have been charged following a brazen robbery in Tunbridge Wells that left two men robbed of their belongings.

Victims Threatened and Stripped of Valuables

On Thursday 24 September 2020, at around 8.40pm, a gang approached two men in Merrion Way. The victims were threatened before their jacket, bag, and rings were snatched.

Police Act Fast to Nab Suspects

Kent Police swiftly launched enquiries and arrested an 18-year-old man and two teenage boys in the early hours of Friday 25 September.

Three Faces Multiple Charges

  • Leon Makoni, 18, from Grange Road, Tunbridge Wells
  • Two 17-year-old boys (names not disclosed)

All three are charged with two counts of robbery and possession of a knife.

Leon Makoni has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 26 September. The two teenagers will face Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on 26 October and 23 November respectively.
