Doberman Found Dead in Chippenham – Police Seek Witnesses

Police are hunting for answers after a three-year-old Doberman was found dead under suspicious circumstances near Avenue La Fleche in Chippenham.

Dog Initially Thought Hit by Car – Now Believed Murdered

The dog’s finder contacted police around 9pm on September 22 and rushed the animal to vets, thinking it had been hit by a car. But vets discovered the Doberman had been deliberately killed, likely with a sharp object.

Owners Devastated as Police Appeal for Information

The dog’s owners had spent the evening searching after she ran off during a walk. PC Darren Willis said:

“This was understandably very distressing for the owners. While we first believed the dog may have been knocked down near a busy road, we now suspect this was a deliberate act.”

He added:

“We want to hear from anyone with info, especially as the attack may not have happened where the dog was found.”
