£1 Million Cocaine Haul Sparks Eight Arrests

Eight suspects have been charged after Kent Police seized a massive haul of cocaine worth an eye-watering £1 million.

Officers stopped a vehicle in Chessington, Surrey, on 30 July 2020 and found 10 kilograms of pure cocaine inside. The drug bust sent shockwaves through the local community.

Eight Charged With Conspiring to Supply

By 1 September, seven men were locked up on charges of conspiring to supply Class A drugs.

  • Daniel Hawksbee, 37, Ashen Drive, Dartford
  • Ivan Mpaka, 32, Meadow View Road, Sydenham
  • Mark Lazarus, 55, Nightingale Vale, Woolwich
  • Colin Mugalu, 39, Havelock Road, Greenhithe
  • Simon Kambagu, 32, Sun Court, Erith
  • Robbie Dunn, 25, Hilltop Gardens, Dartford

Latest Arrest at Luton Airport

Then, on 7 October, Billy Wray, 22, from Ridge Way, Crayford, was arrested at Luton Airport. He has now been charged with conspiring to supply cocaine and remanded in custody. Wray is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 8 October.

Mugalu, Mpaka, Kambagu, and Dunn have all been remanded in custody ahead of their Maidstone Crown Court hearings. The remaining defendants are out on bail, awaiting the same court date to be confirmed.
