Three Arrested After Leeds Disorder Set to Face Court

Two men and a teenage boy nabbed following chaos in Leeds’ Halton Moor area are due in court today. Charges range from violent disorder to arson and robbery.

Violent Disorder and Assault Charges

Mark Hargreaves, 48, of Ramshead Place, Leeds, faces charges of violent disorder and assaulting a police officer after trouble flared on Rathmell Road on November 8.

Arson, Robbery, and Criminal Damage Allegations

  • Brett Hamilton, 18, from Wykebeck Avenue, Leeds, is charged with arson and criminal damage after setting a police crime scene investigator’s van on fire during disorder at Ullswater Crescent on September 19, 2019.
  • He also faces a robbery charge linked to an incident on July 19 this year.
  • A 14-year-old boy, identity protected due to age, stands accused of arson, two counts of criminal damage, threats to commit criminal damage, three assaults, and robbery—all tied to incidents in Halton Moor between 2019 and this year.

Police Investigate, Seek Public Help

Both the youth and Hamilton have been released under investigation for violent disorder on November 7. All three are set to appear at Leeds Magistrates’ Court this morning.

Detectives continue probing disturbances over the weekend in Kendal Drive and Rathmell Road. Officers are keeping a strong presence in the area to calm nerves.
