Drug Dealer Caught Red-Handed in Witney Sentenced to Years Behind Bars
Thomas Harris Nabbed with Cocaine and Cannabis
Thomas Harris, 25, from Highworth Place, Witney, pled guilty at Oxford Crown Court on Tuesday (10/11) to multiple drug offences. He was caught carrying Class A and Class B drugs after being stopped for a search on Ducklington Lane at 6.30pm on Sunday, 31 May.
Police found cocaine and cannabis on him, leading to his arrest the very next day.
Jailed for Drug Supply and Breaching Suspended Sentence
In court, Harris admitted possession with intent to supply a Class A drug, possession of a Class A drug, and possession with intent to supply a Class B drug. He received a three-year sentence for supplying Class A drugs, and eight months for possession, to run concurrently.
Crucially, Harris was slapped with an additional one-year sentence for breaking a previous suspended prison term. This sentence will run consecutively, stacking up his jail time.
Alongside prison, Harris was ordered to forfeit £5,297 in cash seized by police as crime proceeds.
Police Crack Down on Drug Dealers Exploiting Communities
“Harris was already on a suspended prison sentence for previous drug offences and showed complete disregard to this,” said Sergeant Steven Morris from Witney police station. “I hope this sentence sends a clear message that drug dealers exploiting vulnerable people won’t be tolerated.
“Through our Stronghold campaign, we’re working hard to tackle organised crime and protect our communities.”
