Blaze Ravages All Saints Church in Mackworth
Firefighters are battling to control a devastating fire at All Saints Church in Mackworth. They were called just after 4.30pm and found the fire already well advanced, engulfing the entire building.
Significant Damage to Historic Church
The blaze has caused severe structural damage to the church, leaving the local community in shock. Crews are expected to stay on site into the night, damping down and hunting for smouldering hotspots to prevent further flare-ups.
Community Left Reeling
“Unfortunately the fire was so well developed by the time firefighters arrived that the church has suffered significant structural damage,” said Area Manager Clive Stanbrook. “Our thoughts this evening go out to the community and congregation of All Saints Church who will no doubt be devastated by this tragic fire.”
Investigation Set to Begin Tomorrow
A joint investigation between fire officials and Derbyshire Constabulary will kick off tomorrow to determine the cause of the destructive blaze.
