Kingston Police Hand Out Festive Hampers from School Charity Drive
Local cops in Kingston have been spreading festive cheer by handing out hampers packed with food, Christmas crackers, and toys. These generous gifts came courtesy of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic School in Camberwell, aimed at victims of crime and the borough’s most vulnerable residents.
School’s Heartfelt Christmas Giving
Generous pupils, parents, and staff at Sacred Heart rallied together to brighten lives this season. They created hundreds of hampers stuffed with tasty treats and soft toys. On top of that, bundles of thermal hats, gloves, and socks were wrapped up and sent to officers to distribute, helping keep homeless people snug through winter.
Police Praise School’s Kindness
“It was a privilege to deliver some kindness on behalf of Sacred Heart,” said PC Matt Cefai. “The school asked if we knew vulnerable people who would benefit—and we certainly did. We made sure each ward officer had hampers to give locally.”
PC Cefai added, “A massive thank you to everyone at Sacred Heart for their generosity in tough times. Christmas is about giving, and these hampers bring real festive joy to those who might otherwise miss out.”
How You Can Help Homeless People
Warm clothing donations were also handed to the homeless, making a huge difference this winter. If you spot someone sleeping rough, you can help by contacting Street Link or SPEAR. These charities connect rough sleepers with vital support services.
